Scholarship Essay Competition
The scholarship will be put in place to provide financial assistance to three (3) male students graduating from a Guilford or Alamance County high school to help alleviate the costs associated with attending either a trade school, community college, or 4-year institution.
This will be done in the form of a scholarship essay competition where three students will emerge as the first, second, and third prize winners and be given a monetary prize of $1000, $750, and $500 respectively, in addition to a certificate of recognition.
Application Requirements

Must be a 2024 senior male graduating from a Guilford County or Alamance County high school.

Must be enrolled in a college, university, or trade school for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Can study any major or course at a university or college when applying for the 2024-2025 cycle.
Verification of enrollment will be required before disbursement of scholarship funds.
If you are unable to submit a digital scholarship application, please contact your high school guidance counselor and we will make arrangements for physical submissions. In order for your application to be completed, you must submit BOTH a completed Scholarship Essay and a completed Application Form.
Essay Question
Students will be required to answer the following essay prompt in no more than 300 words:
Reflect on a key experience during high school that shaped your character and outlook, focusing on leadership, service, community engagement, personal growth, and teamwork. How has this prepared you for post-high school life, and how will you apply these lessons in the future?
Scholarship Timeline
February 5th, 2024
Launch scholarship competition.
February 2024 - April 2024
Visit schools in Guilford County and Alamance County to speak about the scholarship competition.
April 19th, 2024
Scholarship application closes.
May 1st, 2024
Winner announcement.
